| Clipboard entry | Why Godfrey notes it | Stays until |
|---|---|---|
| Nickname | The name called over the tannoy | The day you scrub your entry card |
| Email address | Matching you to your entry card at log-in | The day you scrub your entry card |
| Password hash | Checking a password nobody here can read | The day you scrub your entry card |
| Sign-up date | Replying to notes and stopping troublemakers | The day you scrub your entry card |
Nothing more goes on the card. The fete office never wants your real name, home address, birthday, phone number or any payment detail, as there is no cash tin on the green. Your password survives only as a one-way hash. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (running the account you signed up for). Pressing the delete button on your account page scrubs the whole card there and then.
| Clipboard entry | What the stalls use it for | Stays until |
|---|---|---|
| Coin tin, level, missions, stall settings | Carrying on from your last throw | Until this browser’s site data is cleared |
| Age confirmation | Stops the banner asking twice | Until this browser’s site data is cleared |
| Cookie choice | Noting whether you said yes or no | Until this browser’s site data is cleared |
These entries live in your browser alone; none of them travels to the fete office.
Press “Accept all” and Google Analytics and Google Ads tags note each visit and whether an advert ended in play, a first spin for example. Google then gets your IP address, device information and those events. Press “Essential only” and the same tags stay in consent mode: no cookies, no advertising identifiers. Lawful basis: consent.
The company hosting the site keeps routine request logs for a brief spell, for security reasons. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Whenever you like, you may see, correct or erase your data, limit it, object to its processing and withdraw consent. The delete button on the account page scrubs your entry card instantly; clearing this site’s data in your browser sweeps up whatever is left. To complain, write to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Coconut Shy Green lets in adults of 18 and upwards, and turns everyone younger away at the rope. Each stall is played with virtual coins carrying no monetary value; they are never bought, sold, withdrawn or exchanged. No coin booth stands on the green, no payment page hides behind the marquee, no prize of real-world value is on any trestle, and success here does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
